EEIC supplies products to petrochemical giant, Petro Rabigh:
“EEIC is always seeking to be a part of high profile projects in the Kingdom and fortunately our quality products and reputation in the market has always allowed us that access. To work in different capacities on Petro Rabigh projects has been one such opportunity,” Mr. Salah Nasr, Commercial Operations Director, was recorded as saying at the company premises.
Electronic & Electrical Industries Corporation (EEIC) specializes in providing integrated power and automation solutions that are used to operate some of the world’s largest oil, gas, petrochemicals, power generation and desalination facilities. Ranging from engineering and manufacturing to servicing a complete range of medium voltage and low voltage products, the company is fast becoming a renowned brand in Saudi Arabia. This is further reflected in its recent work with the petrochemical giant, Petro Rabigh.
First set up in 2005 as a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Sumitomo Chemical, the Petro Rabigh project aimed at building integrated oil refining and petrochemical operations. Saudi Aramco transferred its oil refinery to Petro Rabigh soon after its creation and a new petrochemical complex has since been built as part of the initiative.
EEIC won the order to supply Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, Switchgears and Panelboards for the upgrade of Rabigh refinery, Phase-I project. Completely new line-ups were provided to replace the existing ones for the four substations of the refinery making it a great opportunity for the company to contribute to the project’s success. Mr. Ahmed Al Titi, Projects Department Manager at EEIC comments, “Petro Rabigh is a huge petrochemical platform and EEIC is as always looking to leave its footprints in the key sectors contributing to the Saudi economy. The Petro Rabigh upgrade and renovation project was challenging particularly because we had to meet the aggressive shutdown date. For this, we’re grateful to the entire team for the extra effort they have invested.”
Furthermore, now looking to expand and process an additional 30 million cubic feet a year of ethane and 3 million tonnes a year of naptha, Phase II of the Rabigh project is underway, to which too EEIC has significantly contributed. EEIC has supplied Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchgears for the Offsites and Utilities package for Phase II.
Additionally, EEIC has provided the complete Low Voltage scope for Non Process Buildings for the Rabigh project-Phase II that include the JV Directorate Office Complex, Camp, Administrative, Laboratory and Warehouse Buildings.
